A first in my collection I'm happy to show a few Silver Strikes that I recently picked up from JAAS on our Coin Discord.
More info on Silver Strikes can be found at https://www.silverstrikers.com/
The definition is Limited Edition silver token won from slot machines and is in a protective plastic holder. Some call them "Silver Premium Tokens", but most of us just call them "Silver Strikes". These tokens are issued in many casinos throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Cruise Ships. The first of these tokens were won from slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992.
A few new picks up for the start of 2021
I had been wanting to get some fractional silver/bullion to go along with the 90% constitutional silver that I like to collect. I found these at Monarch Precious Metals
I feel it's good to have some fractional silver around and on hand. Most people agree with gold as 1 ounce of gold is harder to break up and harder to spend in a situation where you might only need a small amount of fiat. I feel like the same can go for silver as well. With silver hitting close to $30/ounce and not knowing where it might could go to having some fractional silver as well could give you smaller amounts that would be easier to spend.
I ended up picking up a few of these right before the spike of premiums this last week with the recent Silver Squeeze that pushed premiums up and saw many dealers out of stock
Just a simple update and pick ups for Jan 2021
I participated in an online auction and was able to pickup a few items that I would like to share and also a few items from a donation stream on Youtube
The undead collection will see 10 historical figures and coin designs fall victim to the zombie apocalypse. Rounds are released every three months through 2015 and are produced by the Provident Mint in silver and copper bullion and proof versions. Prepare for the apocalypse and fight the bite with Zombucks!
These two recent picks up I've added to my collection, I do hope to be able to get the rest and complete the set.
The Morgue Anne and the ZomBuff,
One cool thing about the Morgue Anne I picked up is it is a Mint Error. It is struck in 1oz .999 silver but was struck with .999 Fine copper wording. I don't know how many were minted with this error but it is really cool to have one as part of the collection.
Celebrate 70 Years of Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang with the APMEXclusive® Peanuts 70th Anniversary 1 oz Silver rounds. Each features Charlie Brown himself along with the Peanuts 70th Anniversary logo.
Contains 1 oz of .999 fine Silver
Limited mintage of 7,000 rounds
Obverse: Depicts an officially licensed image of Charlie Brown standing with arm extended next to the official Peanuts 70th Anniversary logo with Snoopy laying on top
Reverse: Displays the officially licensed Peanuts logo along with the following characters from left to right: Pig-Pen, Schroeder, Franklin, Woodstock, Sally Brown, Charlie Brown, Lucy Van Pelt, Peppermint Patty, and Marcie
The Goldback is the world’s first voluntary, complementary currency to be made of a spendable, beautiful, small denomination, physical gold.
I found out about the Goldbacks a couple months ago and after doing some reading on them I have to add these to my collection. The set pictured is the first series known as the Utah Goldback, There is currently also a set for Nevada and A New Hampshire set is coming soon. While I am primarily a silver collector/stacker I think this is a neat way to own some gold without a huge investment up front. The beautiful artwork just adds to the collectability of these notes and whether you plan on getting them to barter for items or to collect, These are hands down some of the best looking small denomination physical gold items to have.
From their site: Goal of the Goldback
We are working to make it possible for an anyone to have a choice on whether or not they want their regular spending money to be subject to inflation. The Goldback is meant to be the best physical complementary currency for retaining value. Our goal is for people to be able to pay for anything with the Goldback whether it is a new home or a lemonade. Each Goldback is at least valued at the current rate on Goldback.com by businesses.
You can find more info about the Goldback at their site.
